Elgin Heritage Park
13723 Crescent Road, Surrey

Elgin Park is in our opinion, one of the best on-leash walking areas in South Surrey, with shaded forest trails, open grassy paths, and riverside routes that change with the seasons.

  • Entire park is on-leash

  • 2 washroom stations

  • Garbage cans available for your poop bags

  • 2 large parking areas

  • Cold water available from a pump

Maintained pathways, easy parking, garbage stations and access to fresh water beside the rowing house make Elgin especially desirable as a walking destination. And handy for the human element in the pack, it has washrooms in 2 separate locations!

We often see seals popping the heads up to watch us pass , while eagles, hawks, ducks, and other wildlife are very common throughout the park. We once even spotted a beaver and her baby. I'm not sure who was more excited, us or the dogs!

Be sure not to miss the stunning lupin display in late May / early June.

Campbell Valley Park
20285-8 ave , Langley

1,500 acres glorious acres of diverse pedestrian pathways.

Multiple access points make it easy to change routes and explore different areas of the park throughout the year. This has remained one of our favorite parks for several years.

  • Several pedestrian-only

  • All the walking trails are designated on-leash

  • 4 washroom areas

  • Several parking areas

  • Water available from the washroom facilities

  • Several garbage units

In addition, the park has a great mix of meadow walks, shaded forest trails, interior ravine paths, and peaceful creekside routes.

Be sure to remain on the pedestrian only trails (of which there are many). Many horses spook at the sight of dogs particularly if the dogs are excited. Horses legally have the right-of-way on all of the horse trails.

This park is especially great on those hot summer days as tall trees provide shade through most of the forest. This same tree canopy makes it one of our favourite parks on the rainy winter days. It has a good network of maintained trails with several different access points, making it easy to change routes and keep walks interesting. It is a good idea to grab one of the maps at the main entrance as it is surprisingly easy to get completely lost and many a time we have directed wandering souls to the parking lot.

  • No washroom facilitites

  • No water available unless the creek is running

  • Avoid during wind-storms due to trees infected with a root disease and can topple (and they do!)

  • Entire park is designated on-leash

  • One main parking lot and 3 other on-street entrances

  • Only garbage can located in main parking lot

  • This is a great park on hot, sunny days due to the amount of tree-canopy. It also makes it a good choice on rainy days (though not on rainy and windy days. see above)
